Six Eastern Samar Pupils Get Philippine Science High School Scholarships For 2012

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Philippine Science High School System (PSHSS) announces the names of the successful qualifiers to the PSHSS Search for Scholars for 2012. Of the 19,925 applicants nationwide, only 1,096 examinees successfully hurdled the one-step screening administered last September 10, 2011. The complete list of successful examinees can be found in www.pshs.edu.ph. For Eastern Samar, the following are the qualifiers:

The qualifiers are advised to immediately visit the Registrar or the Campus Director of the PSHS Eastern Visayas Campus, Palo, Leyte or contact them at (053) 327-6192 or 323-5627 for more information on the PSHS Scholarship Program, enrolment process and the schedule of campus activities. Last day for pre-enrolment of principal qualifiers is on February 10, 2012.
As benefits, the PSHS scholars will receive monthly stipend, in addition to free tuition and textbooks. Uniform, transportation and living allowances are also given according to financial need.

The PSHS is one of the attached agencies of the DOST contributing to the expansion and development of the country’s scientific and technological manpower. PSHS uses special high school curriculum based on science, mathematics and technology which significantly prepares the students in future careers in Science and Technology.
